Biography:
Dr. Nupur Verma is an Associate Professor in Department of Physics, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, India. She has more than 25 years’ experience in teaching and research activities in University of Delhi. Her research field includes calculation of collision strengths, radiative and autoionisation transition probabilities, photoionization cross-sections, oscillator strengths and wavelengths of allowed and forbidden transitions. This atomic database is urgently needed for modeling astrophysical objects and interpretation of observational data obtained from space missions. She has contributed as keynote speaker and given invited talks in many conferences world-wide. She has many research publications in reputed international journals. She has played an active role as part of organizing committee in CDAMOP 2002, 2006 and 2011 in University of Delhi, India. She has received many awards and acknowledged for her meritorious work. She is a member of working research group at GNAMPP, (IAEA), member of American Physical Society and a life member of Indian Society of Atomic and Molecular Physics. Her present study includes the investigation of plasma effect on collisional problem and photoionization cross-section resulting in changes of structural properties, such as spectral-line broadening, depression of ionization-potentials, and change of transition properties compared to free systems.
