Biography: 
Yong Chen studied environmental chemistry at the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After graduation in 2009, he joined in School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He was also a visiting scientist at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Waterloo, and University of Western Ontario. Since 2004, he has been doing the research in the area of environmental photochemistry, mainly including the mechanistic investigation of the photochemical processes of Iron(III) and dissolved organic matter (DOM). He also took part in the environmental management as vice head of environmental bureau of Jingmen City during 2013-2015. Since 2019, he became a member of Advisory Committee for Policy Decision of Wuhan city.
