Biography:
Dr. Zilong Liu, as a university young top-notch talent, started his new academic career in 2020.10 at College of Science, China University of Petroleum (Beijing). He perfomed two years postdoctoral research (2018.09-2020.09) supported by Shell Global Solutions at Department of Chemical Engineering, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2018. He received his M.Sc and B.Sc. from China University of Petroleum (Qingdao) in 2015 and 2012, repsectively. Dr. Liu has great interest in applying both laboratory and theoretical methodologies to explore the surface and interface related phenomenon, such as the interactions at the rock-water interface, surfactant adsorption on the rock surfaces, and novel structures of low-dimensional carbon materials and its applications. With nanotechnology being a focal point, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and quartz crystal microbalance provide nanoscale sensitivity in force and mass, and molecular simulations open avenue to reveal molecular interactions, which contribute to a better understanding of the fundamental interactions and processes relevant to enhanced oil recovery (EOR), gas adsorption and separation, hydrate mining, and nanofluid applications.
